Why we might have got in touch

Miko builds software for operational problems, and we will not build anything for a problem we do not understand. So before any of that, we ask the people who actually do the work. If a message from us brought you here, this page explains what we are looking into and what taking part involves.

This is market research. We are looking at how one particular job gets done across a lot of different organisations, so that anything we build suits more than one of them. We are asking about the work itself, not about your budget, your suppliers or your plans, and answering does not commit you to anything.

What taking part involves

  1. We tell you which job we are looking into, and why we thought your organisation would have a useful view of it.
  2. We ask a small number of questions about how that job actually works: who does it, what it involves, and the parts that get awkward.
  3. You answer the ones you want to, in as much or as little detail as suits you. A two-line reply is genuinely useful.
  4. If we have misjudged and your organisation does not do that job at all, saying so is useful too.

We are asking how this kind of work is done in general, not auditing your systems or scoping a project for you. There is nothing to prepare, nothing to install, and we are not asking for anything confidential.

What we do with what you tell us

It informs what we build

We are looking for problems that show up in more than one organisation, and for the difference between what is genuinely difficult and what is merely annoying. A lot of answers together tell us that, and no single one does.

We do not publish your name

We do not quote you, name your organisation or publish anything you say as a case study or testimonial without asking you first and getting a clear yes.

We keep it to a minimum

Your name, your organisation, your role and what you told us. Nothing more than we need, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

We do not sell or share it

Your details are not passed to anyone else and are not added to a marketing list. The privacy notice sets out how this works in full.

Take part, or ask us to stop.

Either is a perfectly good reply, and neither needs an explanation. Email us and we will do whatever you ask, including removing your details and not contacting you again.
